Veoh is taking a big step toward our goal of being your best source for watching, discovering and sharing all the video content you love.  We’ve just launched dozens of ABC and ESPN channels on our site to go along with the awesome content already available from CBS, the CW, MTV, VH1 and the hundreds of independent publishers on Veoh.   That means you can get your fix of The Bachelorette, catch the latest full episodes of Lost, and follow McDreamy and Meredith on Grey’s Anatomy.   Or watch the latest ESPN SportsCenter updates, along with interviews with star players, fantasy sports bulletins, and highlights from the big games.   It’s all available on Veoh for free to anyone in the U.S.

You’ll also be able to check out hot new ABC shows that are just making their debut, like Wipeout, the new reality show featuring a painful-looking obstacle course.   We’re pretty curious to see how contestants do against the “dreadmill.”

Even better, with Veoh’s new Groups feature, you can create or join a group devoted to the shows, actors, genres or anything else you want.   It’s a great way to watch your shows anywhere and connect with other fans.   Do you love action packed dramas?  Collect and share episodes of Lost, MacGyver, 24 and CSI in your own group on Veoh, and add some Web shows like Satacracy 88 for good measure.   Or mix Wipeout disasters with your favorite amateur stunt videos.  It’s easy, and we think it will help you discover other great videos on Veoh.

Click the ‘TV Shows’ section at the top of any Veoh page to see a complete list of all the shows you can watch through Veoh, all for free.  We think you’ll agree it’s an impressive list, and combined with the indie Web shows and all the user-generated content, you’re sure to discover tons of content you’ll want to watch.

Let us know what you think by posting in our forums!

We’ve just launched Groups on Veoh, a brand-new way for Veoh users to discover and share more great videos, meet new friends, and discuss their favorite videos. If you love a particular TV show, a particular topic or subject matter, or just about anything else, creating a Group is a great way to spread the word. Or you can go to the Community link at the top of every page on Veoh to check out existing Groups that other users have already created.

Starting your own Group is easy -go the Community section and just click ‘create a Group.’ Then give it a name and add videos, invite your friends on and off Veoh to join, and you’re set. When you’re up and running, grow your Group by allowing Group members to also add videos and invite their friends to join, too.

Once you’ve created a Group we hope you’ll update it regularly and make it a cool place for others to discover videos, discuss topics, and make new friends. As the group manager, you have the ability to add or remove any video, invite users, remove group members, and remove any topic or post on your Group message board. Use your power wisely!

Because you’ll be able to add any of the millions of video available through Veoh to your Group, including shows from our major content partners like CBS and MTV and hot Web shows like Foreign Body, we think Groups will be a fantastic tool to build communities, have fun, and most importantly, discover and share great videos.

We’d love to know what you think, so please send your feedback as you create and grow your own Groups, and also explore and join Groups other users have created. You have to be a Veoh user to create a Group, so if you haven’t signed up yet, click here to get started.

Enjoy!

We’ve released a new version of our flash player and made some changes to the video pages. We’re not rolling out the changes to everyone yet, we’d like to get user feedback first before we do.

We definitely want to hear what you think, so please provide your feedback in our flash player and page design feedback forum.

Here’s a quick overview of what’s new:

  • Flash player design - The entire video player got a facelift; everything from the control bar to the loading screen is brand new.
  • New flash player features - The new Menu button enables you browse related videos and jump to specific scenes by clicking the scene thumbnail image.
  • Video page design - On the right side of the page is a new ‘container’ that includes lots of other videos to explore. It has several tabs – one of the tabs includes other videos from the same channel or tv series of the video you’re watching. If you got to the video page from a search, you’ll see other search results in that tab. You can also search for more videos right from the tab. The browse tab has videos from the same category as the video you’re watching.

  • You can see all the other videos in the same channel or TV Show:

  • Search for new videos:

  • Browse videos without ever leaving the video page:

Check out the new page design and flash player and let us know what you think. We hope you enjoy!
